So reality TV isn't as bad as I thought!

In general I'm not the biggest fan of reality television because come on!! Who really wants to sit back and watch the drama unfold in someone else's life? Somehow, yesterday I ended up watching 6 episodes of The real housewives of New Jersey. As pathetic as that is I actually picked up a few ideas for makeup looks. So, watching 6 episodes of nonsense surprisingly had a productive outcome. Anyway, let's get down to business.
As I was watching one of the episodes I picked up a really neat look! It's simple but really stylish and I think I've fallen in love with the effect it has on my eye shape.

All you need for this look is:

-Black eyeshadow (crease)
-Tan shimmery eyeshadow (Base)
-Black eyeliner
-Mascara.
-Angled eyeshadow brush
- Medium sized base brush

Step 1: Prep the eyelid with the lightest shade of concealer you can find ( I use Dior, nude)

Step 2: Apply the Tan base all over the eyelid with your medium sized base brush. Make sure to get every inch from your eyelash line to your eyebrow bone.

Step 3: Using your angled eye shadow brush you're going to apply the black ONLY from the outer edge of the eye to the halfway mark in your crease.
(BLEND WELL.)

Step 4: Apply a thin line of black eyeliner along the top eyelash line.

Step 5: Wiggle your mascara wand through each individual eyelash to insure no clumping.

PRESTO! (: You're finished!

Have dry spots but are afraid to use moisturizer?

I have sensitive skin yet, I am among many with the very same problem. It's a tough call to say whether to use moisturizer or not when your skin breaks out at the drop of a hat. Over the past few months I've had horrible acne and the treatments I've used to cure my acne have dried my face out like a sun dried tomato. Not only was my face itchy but the dryness made it harder for my makeup to go on smoothly. I was so afraid to even get the slightest bit of moisturizer near my face because I knew that if it was the wrong kind , my face would break out even more than it already was. I visited my local clinique counter due to the fact that Clinique is most famous for their skin solutions. One of the representatives handed me a tiny sample of moisturizer built for all types of skin, including sensitive skin. It's called "Dramatically different." It worked great! I still use it from time to time when my face treatment dries my face out. And throughout the year or so that I've been using this product it has kept my skin moisturized without extra bumps on the side ;)
I really recommend this product to anyone who has had the same problem as me, you'll find great relief within your purchase. I guarantee it!! (:

Blush that makes me jump for joy!

Matching your blush to your skin color and sometimes be a tricky task to perform. I've had a bit of trouble with it ever since I started using makeup which was at the age of 10. I went to the mall a few days ago and decided to try and perfect my blush problem. Venturing from counter to counter of my favourite makeup brands I couldn't seem to find anything that held my best interest let alone my interest at all. I'm not yet an expert on everything dealing with makeup so sometimes I need a little advice myself. A sales clerk for Lancome guided me to her counter and answered all of my questions dealing with this concept. Beneath her counter she pulled out a small comapct that held the blush I've been looking for my entire years of wearing makeup. Of course, I'm making this sound much more dramatic of an experience than it really was but still, it's something to be happy about in my eyes. The blush was a beautiful light shade of pink and it matched my skin color perfectly without making me look like Bozo the clown.

Back in business

I just noticed the other day that I don't really blog much anymore which, really sucks. I think I get distracted by other things in my life that I forget to sit down at the computer and write to everyone who reads the junk I put on here. So, anyway, I have some feedback on some new products that I've recently started using. I have to say, they've changed the way I think about things. As most of you have probably noticed, I tend to try out a lot of new products so that someday I can officially say " I've tried everything out there in every makeup line known to the fashion industry." It would be a large accomplishment of mine actually. These days I decided to venture on to a new line concealers and face powders.
I usually use Bare Minerals or Dior but.. I found that those brands make my face feel oily and sticky which is what I'm NOT looking for. Then again, what girl wants to walk around all day feeling icky and greasy?! I think not ;)

The face powder: Ageless Mineral Price: 64$

The face powder is put out by Lancome. I don't usually use Lancome's products because in the past I didn't find that it satisfied my needs in the makeup department. The powder is very light in weight so it doesn't weigh your skin down while you're wearing it, something wonderful. I feel almost naked while wearing it because it honestly feels like I'm not wearing any face powder what so ever. It also illuminates your skin and gives you a natural glow.

First thing's first:

The concealer: Effacernes waterproof under eye concealer. Price: $29.50

I like this concealer because it doesn't leave Orange little circles on the places where you've applied it. Usually, concealers tend to do that and I find it quite aggravating.
The price might not be ideal but if the product works properly and it satisfies your needs isn't it worth it?! I think so. If you use the face powder along with this concealer you're bound to have a beautiful looking complexion.

Going out on the whim with a new makeup look

The other day my boyfriend and I were looking at old photos of Indian face paint. The designs carefully drawn upon their faces inspired me to re-create the abstract beauty of their already made designs. A small fraction of my heritage is Indian. If you asked me what tribe my ancestors are from I honestly couldn't tell you because I don't know a whole lot of information about my past relatives. Even though, I still decided to follow through with my face paint look idea. So, today after I returned home from thrift store shopping with my Mom I took a quick trip to Wal-mart to grab some loose eyeshadow which just so happened to be new on the cosmetics market. It worked fabulously. Originally the original look that I re-created was done with a red stripe across the eye area but I decided to switch up the beat a little and do a raving blue instead. It really brought out my eyes better and to top it all off I lightly coated my lips in liquid foundation and applied the loose blue eyeshadow on top of the concealer to create a home made electric blue lip color.

Items included in the look:Loose electric blue eyeshadow, liquid foundation, tape.

Instead of doing a tutorial for you guys I decided to just upload the pictures to this entry so you can see what boredom brought to me (:

Kesha with a war paint base.

For this tutorial I decided to do a free style. It's been a really long time since I've actually branched out and created my own look so I wanted to do something special for all of you seeings how I haven't blogged in nearly a month. Which, I apologize for doing :/ Things have been hectic around here in Bre land. Anyhoo, let's get down to business (:

The look we'll be doing :

Step 1: Prep your eyelid with Liquid concealer. The lightest color possible so it doesn't affect the color of the eyeshadow.

Step 2: Apply "Gigi" By Bare Minerals from the lash line to the crease of the eye with a medium sized eyeshadow brush.

Step 3: Apply "Starlet Leigh Ann" By Bare minerals in the crease of the eye over the the eyeshadow you just applied. Make sure to make this eyeshadow fan out at the top so that it makes blending easier (: You'll be applying this eyeshadow with a small sized makeup brush. Mine just so happens to be by elf<3

Step 4: Now, you're going to apply your highlight. For this look the highlight is going to be "B.F.F" By Bare Minerals. This color is perfect for this look because it's really soft but sets off the deep purple and light blue very well! Apply this with your medium sized eyeshadow brush. Blend well.

Step 5: It's time for the eyeliner (: You know I'm pretty famous for the liquid eyeliner but with this look I used both stick and liquid. Quite surprising huh?!
With the liquid I did my usual Cat eye only a little bit bigger than average.

Now, on the lower lash line I used an Icy blue stick eyeliner. I followed my lash line half way and then brought the line down into a point a few inches short of my tear duct.

Add your mascara on the top and bottom lash line (:

Step 6: The eyebrows in this look are a must! I only darkened mine a tiny bit so that they were more defined and noticeable. I used a smashbox eyebrow kit that came in a gift one year for christmas. Pretty nifty if I do say so myself(:

The war paint is optional. I added it for flare and fun. If you're interested in doing it just draw it on your cheeks with black eyeliner and smudge the outside corners.

Fun with this look :

I hope you all enjoy this look (:

Glasses will no longer be a burden!

I know it's been quite some time since I last blogged so I decided to make this one a good one, that everyone who wears glasses can use. I chose to do glasses because I know a lot of women who do wear glasses tend to have a lot of confusion about what makeup to wear beneath the glasses. So, here we go.

Scenario#1: There's a cute guy in one of your glasses and you want more than anything for him to notice you. The only thing holding you back is those god awful glasses that take away from your beautiful face. This, my friends, is very easy to fix (:

The #1 thing you're going to want to do is make your eyes stand out so that the glasses can't possibly take away from them. This has a lot to do with eye color coordinating. We've talked about this before. For blue eyes I recommend brown eyeshadow, green eyeshadow, and possibly even purple. Those colors usually do a world of wonders for me. Don't make these colors overpowering because if you do then it'll just take away from your eyes even more.

The second thing is making those eyelashes voluminous. Yes honey, we're going for lady gaga lashes.. well, almost (: Faux eyelashes are in need at this point. Ignore what everyone has said about them when it comes to the bad stuff because fake eyelashes they really help make your eyes stand out and guys love a girl with long, thick eyelashes whether they're fake or real. You can find these at pretty much any wal-mart or sally beauty supply store.

Next, you're going to add only a small amount of light pink blush to your cheeks (I like to use Nude rose by Estee Lauder) so that the color doesn't become overpowering. See, the goal here is to make your EYES stand out not your entire face.

Glasses can sometimes be a hassle so I made this entry to make things just a tad bit easier on you.
I hope this comes in handy!!!

I love you all (:
