I remember when I first started wearing makeup. It was exciting but at the same time it was frustrating because I wasn't quite sure where all of the different elements went. Fortunately, I was taught by my grandmother and had some sort of guidance. As time went by I increased my talent and doing makeup and here I am now at the age of 14 telling all of you wonderful people all of my tricks :) If you're in the place that I was in then I'm going to assure you that there's no reason to panic. The rules to makeup application are simple. Now, there are pros and cons to this.
Pros: You'll be able to begin learning how to apply eyeshadow
*You'll be able to begin learning about what colors go with which
*You'll be able to begin learning how to apply all of the other elements in a makeup look.
Cons: You won't be able to quite perfect it until you've had some serious experience. But, I can help you the best I can :)
So, I'm sure you're asking, what are the rules??
The rules for concealer or powder:
1). Make sure to buy a good quality brand that will match your skin and keep your skin healthy at the same time ( see Bare minerals page)
2). I recommend using powder concealer because it's not only better for your skin but it doesn't clog your pores with that nasty gunk used to make liquid concealer.
3). never use an massive amount of concealer because if you do you're sure to look too made up. The goal is to look beautiful and natural. A little goes a long way :)
The rules for Eyeshadow :
1). As a beginner you'll want to start using neutral colors because they're easier to put on and starting with those will make the learning process a whole lot easier.
2).Your base color, a very light color, will be applied from the bottom of the eyebrow bone down to your eyelashes. (You'll use a small fluffy brush for this)
3). The crease color will only be applied from the eye crease down to the eyelash line. (You'll use an angled brush for this part)
4).The eyeshadow should never go anywhere past your eyebrow on the outside.
5). Applying the eyeshadow in a back and forth motion with your brush of choice will make for perfect and smooth results.
I'm not going to teach you how to blend just yet but we'll get to that part soon :)

The rules for eyeliner:
I'm sure you know by now that I prefer to use liquid eyeliner and yes, it is easier once you learn how to use it but for right now I advise that you stick to pencil liner. This will also make the learning process a lot easier.
1).For blue eyes use a dark green liner
2). For green eyes use a brown liner ( Using specific colors of eyeliner for your
eye color will make your eyes pop)
3). Apply a medium sized ban of eyeliner over the top eye lash line.
4). If you'd like to apply the eyeliner on your bottom eyelash line only apply half way not all the way across. All the way across has a tendency to look too much.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The rules for blush:
1). Never apply a massive amount of blush especially when working with red blush. If you do happen to accidentally apply too much just gently wipe over the area with a piece of toilet paper or a tissue.
2). Use colors that go well with the look and your skin color
4). Apply the blush from the apple of your cheeks to your hairline. (Use the blush brush from bare minerals)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The rules for mascara:
1). You don't have to buy an expensive brand of mascara to get the look because a cheap brand will do just as much work as the expensive brand. I love using the falsies by maybeline.
2). By a mascara that doesn't clump. And if it does , immediately throw it away and go look for one that doesn't clump.
3). Never apply mascara to the bottom lash line, it just doesn't look right in most cases.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rules for lip gloss:
Since you're young and just learning you probably should use lip gloss instead of lipstick just for the pure fact that lip gloss is more fun and flirty and much more appropriate for your age :)
The colors you should use for lip gloss:
light pink, light brown, plum color, clear.
I use bare minerals lip gloss. Cupcake, wild honey, angel food cake.
